
Steve Franklin began his legal career as an officer in the U.S.
Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. He successfully advocated for his clients as a criminal defense attorney in numerous
evidentiary proceedings, including misdemeanor and felony level trials as well as an array of administrative hearings.
Mr. Franklin also served as the primary legal advisor of Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, Italy, where he was responsible
for advising the Commanding Officer on all legal matters and interpreting and administering military law and policy for the
command. In recognition of his service, Mr. Franklin was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement
Medal.
Mr. Franklin is a graduate of Kentwood High School in Kent, Washington.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers College, New Brunswick, New Jersey where he focused on political science
and Japanese. Mr. Franklin received his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee,
Florida. Shortly after graduating from Florida State, he attended the Navy's Officer Indoctrination School and the Navy
Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. Mr. Franklin is licensed to practice law in Washington and Florida. He
is a member of the Washington State Trial Lawyer's Association, Kitsap and King County Bar Associations. He is a regular
volunteer at the Kitsap Legal Services dissolution clinic in Bremerton.
Mr. Franklin is a proud resident of Poulsbo, Washington. In
his free time he enjoys preparing "epic" meals and mixing "unbelievable" concoctions. He enjoys the outdoors, sports,
and travel.
