Chalmers Carey Johnson

Chalmers Johnson is a relative newcomer to Washington State, but not to the profession of law. He comes from South Carolina, where he graduated from Winthrop University, Cum Laude, with a degree in Political Science and Sociology. He went on to attend law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1996.

Chalmers has been a trial lawyer since being sworn in to the South Carolina Bar in 1996. After litigating for civil plaintiffs and criminal defendants as an associate attorney for several years, he found himself drawn to civil rights and employment law cases. In 2000, Chalmers opened the Chalmers Johnson Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina. For seven years, the firm litigated employment law cases and pursued appeals in South Carolina State Courts and the Federal Fourth Circuit.

In 2007, Chalmers sold his firm to his protege and moved to Washington State, looking for a new home on the West Coast. He took the Washington bar exam and was sworn in as a Washington State attorney in June of 2008. After litigating personal injury cases for a little over a year in Tacoma, Chalmers is very excited to have become the newest attorney at J. Michael Koch & Associates, here in Silverdale, where he is dedicated to continuing to pursue his professional passion for litigation on behalf of people in need. As an avid cross country runner and outdoorsman, Chalmers is looking forward to spending his free time experiencing all of the magnificent beauty and challenges that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
