Kitsap County provides a perfect environment for Mike Koch's background and personality. He grew up throughout the country as the son of a career Navy officer, and he served as a yeoman on active duty in the Caribbean during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 prior to attending college at Western Washington University in Bellingham. He went to work in Bremerton for the Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney's Office after earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Washington in 1971, and he has lived and worked in Kitsap County ever since.
